Culture of China

Chinese culture is one of the world's oldest cultures, originating thousands of years ago. The area in which the culture is dominant covers a large geographical region in eastern Asia with customs and traditions varying greatly between provinces, cities, and even towns as well. With China being one of the earliest ancient civilizations, Chinese culture is extremely diverse and varying, and it has a profound effect in the philosophy, virtue, etiquette and traditions of Asia to date. Chinese culture is considered the dominant culture in East Asia historically. Chinese language, ceramics, architecture, music, dance, literature, martial arts, cuisine, visual arts, philosophy, business etiquette , religion, politics and history have a profound impact on the world, while its traditions and festivals are also celebrated, instilled and practiced by people around Asia.

Festival & Celebration

China is listed among the four ancient civilization nations in the world. Over 5000 years history has witnessed the creation of many Chinese traditional festivals. Chinese new year, Chinese mid-autumn festivals, dragon boat festival, many of them has a long history in China. According to their origins, China's festivals mainly fall into three categories, agricultural, religious and social festivals. According to their contents, Chinese festivals can be divided into five kinds, including agricultural, sacrificial, commemorative, recreational and celebratory festivals. Of all the traditional festivals in China, Chinese spring festival and mid-autumn festival are the most important to modern Chinese people nowadays. Spring festival is also called Chinese New Year, it is like the Christmas in the west, and mid-autumn festival is a bit like the thanks giving day in America. Double ninth festival is for elderly citizens, and double seventh festival is for valentines. Though the lifestyles of Chinese people have kept changing over the years, the importance of those traditional festivals in Chinese lives has not faded. Some festivals have even been added to modern style elements which give the festival a more vivid life. Each unique festival has a different way of celebration activities, and even with the same traditional festival, people celebrated it in a slightly different way according to the different customs of various dynasties in Chinese history.

Cuisine

Chinese cuisine is a very important part of Chinese culture, which includes cuisine originating from the diverse regions of China, as well as from Chinese people in other parts of the world. Because of the Chinese diaspora and historical power of the country, Chinese cuisine has influenced many other cuisines in Asia, with modifications made to cater to local palates.The preference for seasoning and cooking techniques of Chinese provinces depend on differences in historical background and ethnic groups. Geographic features including mountains, rivers, forests and deserts also have a strong effect on the local available ingredients, considering climate of China varies from tropical in the south to subarctic in the northeast. Imperial, royal and noble preference also plays a role in the change of Chinese cuisines. Because of imperial expansion and trading, ingredients and cooking techniques from other cultures are integrated into Chinese cuisines over time.

China's fashion history covers hundreds of years with some of the most colorful and diverse arrangements. Different social classes in different eras boast different fashion trends, the color yellow was usually reserved for the emperor during China's Imperial era.

Nanchang university dates from Jiangxi Public Medical College and National Chung-cheng University, which were founded in 1921 and 1940 respectively. Hebei Medical University

Founded by the Governor Li Hongzhang in Tianjin in 1894, Hebei Medical University was the very first western medical school established by the government. One year after the Revolution of 1911, in October of 1912, the government of the Republic of China issued the No.16 and No. 25 order, which changed the university’s name from Beiyang Medical School to Zhili Public Medical College.
